Where to find a tutorial of a complete workflow to make a (plastic) funnel ?

Hello all, 

It could help me a lot if there is somewhere a tutorial (or some tutorials) showing how to do a funnel modeling for soaking. 

The goal is to learn the complete workflow to model the funnel, and to obtain the molding stuff.

If there are similar tutorials or documentations, this will help me a lot as well !

(tutorials in French also apreciated of course 😉 )

Well, this isn't a tutorial, but it should get you started.

• Create sketch
• Draw a circle using the diameter of the small end of the funnel
• End the sketch
• Create a new sketch offset from the first sketch
• Draw a circle using the diameter of the large end.
• End the sketch
• Using the loft tool select each of the circles
• Select the small circle
• Extrude it in the opposite direction of the loft.
• Use the shell command to remove the center of the funnel

May I ask you if there is a way for automatically making the soaking mold from the already modeled funnel, or have we to model the mold as well as we modeled the funnel ?

Note Sure what you mean by 'Soaking Mould', if it like an injection mould you have Combine on the modify menu that you can use to subtracted one part from another, but I think there's a better way for something like this.

First I'd draw the funnel as a revolve.

Make a component called Funnel then draw a cross section something like this.

Then revolve the sketch to make the funnel.

I'll put info on the mould in the next post just to make it easier for me to layout and edit.

To model the core, make a new component and call it Core. Turn on the sketch for the funnel and project the inner profile into a sketch in the Core component.

Then construct the rest of the core and dimension and constrain.

Turn off the first component with the Funnel and revolve the core. After the revolve turn the Funnel back on and you should have this.

Making the Cavity is similar to the core, make a new component and name it Cavity.

With the Cavity component active start a sketch and project to outer profile and make closed by adding the white lines

Make another sketch for the mould plate and extrude, then use revolve cut to make the cavity.

Now if you make all the parts visible and make a section analysis you should have this.

Files attache, I'll leave the other plates for you to make.

(after reading this I guess I wanted to say "dip mold")

Anyway, your demonstration is quite perfect showing the principle of making a mould, and BTW showing we need to model the mould as there is no automatic function for this.
