Warning on Extrude - Reference Failures

Hi, 

I am going through my model to eliminate all warnings. Is there a video / webinar or online reference document on how to resolve warnings and debug any models? 

Anyhow, what I have come across now is the warning below for an extrude/press pull where it cuts out through that panel. I am puzzled what the reason might be, respectively, how to resolve it.

It seems that the left slot missed its target (To Object). May the target geometry was shortened and cut profile can't reach it anymore. Try to change "Chain faces" option.
