view lines in model environment

In the (or better: my) model environment i see solids as a grey mass (when there is no material applied) when sharing pictures it is sometimes hard to see details. How do I show lines? 

As an example: here is an extrusion profile I sketched. 

and here is a snapshot form a youtube tutorial 

the last image is much more clear in communication. But I have no idea how to turn on the lines. I have tried all drop-down menus i could find. 

note:  I know i can make drawings and renderings, but for quick communication I just use screenshots often.

I think you just need to change your visual style to "shaded with visible edges only":

that's where the option is! thanks! 

I have been looking at the view cube, at the appearance in the browser, at the view dropdown in the title bar... totally overlooked the icons at the bottom. Thanks.
