Using SpaceMouse Navigator with Fusion 360

Hi all.

I recently got myself a Spacemouse Navigator to use with Fusion, and it appears to work all ok with its preset for Fusion. I want to apply the 'constrained orbit' feature whilst using the spacemouse. Is this possible?

I appreciate these take time to learn and get used to, but I really think having constrained orbit would make it much easier to navigate.

There is a bit of a learning curve, as you suggest. I suspect that once you get past the initial dizziness, you might find that the constrained orbit is just, well, constraining. However, each to their own - in response to your question, I'm not exactly clear how to use the Fusion constrained vs free orbit, but using the 3DConnexion driver (right-click and access Open 3DConnexion Properties) you can go into Advanced Settings and select 'Dominant'. This basically isolates your rotation to one axis at a time. Maybe that accomplishes what you're after?

(I'm primarily an Inventor guy, but most of my team uses Fusion, and I'm fluent enough. Been using 3DConnexion controllers since they came out)

Hi Todd, thanks for your reply!

I probably will just get used to it eventually. But I do like the way that the model 'behaves' when orbiting with constrained orbit on.

I have tried the dominant setting, and whilst it does help to learn the functions, it doesn't constrain the y-axis the same way as when I just use the mouse. I did a quick screen recording that shows me trying to do the same thing with the 3D mouse as with the normal mouse.
