Using joints to place an assembly in a parametric assembly with dimensions

Hi Everyone,

Just started using Fusion a few weeks ago and I cant seem to figure out how to constrain a sub assembly to a parametic assembly with a dimension.

Basically I build custom cases/boxes and have hardware that always needs to stay in a specific position (with cutout & rebate features) from the edge of a panel, I've got a parametric box designed but can not for the life of me get the hardware to move.

Any help would be much appreciated.

No file, picture or screencast so far.

Dimensions are sketch articles.  Parameters will work in Joints.

Hello @davebYYPCU, thank you for the reply.

Sorry, I forgot to attached the link - https://a360.co/43lek9R

It might be worth noting that the sub assembly is a step file?

I think I might have it working but I cant get the mirror feature to work.

I not sure if I am looking at the right hardware or location to place it, as you information is pretty sketchy.  I will give it a guess and show you why the hardware cannot be moved an place it using a sketch point.  I will not return the model as it is is a F3Z file and it probably will just confuse the problem.  Video will show what I did.

Hi @jhackney1972 ,

Thank you for the quick reply on this.

I've just removed that joint and added a sketch in how you have showed me and it all looks to be working perfectly now.

Thank you very much.
