Using Fusion 360 for 3D Modelling

Greetings everyone,

I've been using Fusion for a couple months and I really like it. I come from a heavy 3D background with 3Ds Max, Blender and C4D and I wanted to try this software for complex geometry.

Now, I've been wondering about exporting meshes as OBJ and the ability to control steps density on, typically, bevels. I've tried MoI 3D as a STEP-to-OBJ convetor and despite the software doing wonders on the topology, the amount of polygons for bevels is just crazy.

Bevels.jpgHere is a very simple example of a cylinder with a beveled cap. If I were to export that as STEP and convert it to OBJ, the highlighted bevel would have an insane amont of steps for such a small bevel, making the model impractical for either video games or simple 3D rendering (huge rendering time for something that could be baked).

Is there an hidden option somewhere, am I missing something or CAD modelling is pure no-go for anything not industry-oriented ?

Thanks !

Hey sis_gnougnou,

If you're looking to get a mesh with a lower polygon count, you can change the refinement option to Custom when you save a body / component as an STL (right-click any component or body to do this).
