Using Dimensions In An Equation

This is seriously, SERIOUSLY lame....  If I try to define a dimension in terms of other dimensions...  I can't.  Here's a trivial example:  Put one rectangle, with dimensions d1= 1.0 and d2 = 2.0, inside another, larger rectangle, with dimensions d3 = 3.0 ans d4 = 4.0.  Now try to center the smaller rectangle vertically within the larger one, by defining an equation for the distance between the bottoms of the two rectangles, based on d1 and d3.  It SHOULD be possibly to reference d2 and d3 by simply clicking on them, and their names should be transferred to the dimension textbox.  But that is not what happens....

This is incredibly basic functionality that I use CONSTANTLY, and works perfectly in Solidworks.

Regards,

Ray

Thanks for the reminder. This is a known problem. I found all the reports of this and have asked for someone to look at them.

@garmitage Welcome to the Fusion 360 community!

You are correct, it's not fixed yet*. These things can take more than a month or two sometimes. I hope you have found the workaround, which is to manually enter the parameter names while sketching. The only thing that is not working here is the ability to reference dimension names by clicking on them.

Thanks,
