Is there a place to view information on what improvements/bug fixes have been made with the latest update?

Right after Fusion has downloaded the update you can usually see an orange bar on top ofer the menu bar (I believe. I've clicked mine away already).
It say's "What's new". If you follow that link it'll get youn to the web page containing the new things in that update.

Usually these updates are posted in "Community -> Blog"
