I currently am unable to run Fusion on my desktop. This causes issue when downloading files that come in f3d format. How can I convert these files correctly? Tried putting them into Creality program that came with 3d printer. Failed. Tried Cura. Failed. Tried an online converter. Failed. Please help

What are your system specs?

You need *.stl format.

F3D is the Fusion 360 native format. You will not be able to 3D print anything directly from it.

The easiest way is saving yout files as STL, as @TheCADWhisperer mentioned.

How to export an STL file from Fusion 360

Hi,

download f3d and save it on local device.

FUSION: File > Open f3d from device

Save design as STL > printer

I have Intel HD 4600 integrated. Not enough to run the program. But I am able to run some. The ones I can use don't accept the fusion files. Therefore I was looking into how to convert.

@Anonymous

I am really curious if this will work...

Log into http://myhub.autodesk360.com

Upload your *.f3d file.

Click on the Export arrow and see if you get an option to export as STL.

@TheCADWhisperer

This worked for files I regularly print, but there is one hangup. If multiple bodies/components are in the file it will send them all as laid out, and my slicer (Simplify3D) treats them as one object, which can be undesirable. You can turn off visibility to those bodies/components and it will only convert what is visible, but obviously, you have to be able to open the .f3d to do that. I turned off visibility and converted through the "web viewer" as well, but it appears to use as much GPU as Fusion itself.

@Anonymous If you find the above is a problem in a model you have, you can open the file in Meshmixer or something similar to delete the unwanted bodies, then save the file in the desired state.
