Im trying to figure out how to go about scaling this part down 50% and keep a similar hole size on the bottom and ends if possible. This is not my file so I don't have the original.

What Dimensions do you have for the .stl file? I Converted to a Solid body and scaled 50% (but my units may be wrong.

The original stl was in mm so the dimensions look accurate. The main thing im trying to figure is if there's a way to keep the original hole size for the bottom and ends or if I just have to edit them manually. Working with mesh is foreign to me so im not sure where to begin.

Easiest method would be:

  1. Create cylinders to match the desired hole size.
  2. Scale the mesh model.
  3. Position the cylinders at the new hole positions.
  4. Convert the cylinders to a mesh.
  5. Combine cut the cylinders from the mesh.

You may need to do 4 before 3.
