Hi there,

Self taught with no engineering experience past fabrication and experience with materials.

https://myhub.autodesk360.com/ue2972e85/data/permalink/DTa9a27QT67baf2e7a976514f400cbdd4f5f

I built this model at 1:1 scale and am going to be fabbing a few up for the shop I work in. The bosses don't have the same imagination and can't, "see" things without measurements though. i.e. this rack is 2' x 4' and will have a 4" .125" wall frame, arms are 2" .25" wall.

With that said I'd like to be able to click specific point and have the visual reference to size, like sketch dimension tool does except it treats all components and bodies as one geometry.

I'm also interested in learning how to possibly convert things like this to blueprint if this is a function. Maybe one of these is the answer and makes the other moot?

All the best~

To create a dimensioned 2D drawing (aka "blueprint"), select the New Drawing from the files dropdown.

To attach the actual file here, first select Export from the files dropdown.

For temporary real-time measurements, click on Measure on the Inspection tab.

Thanks JD. The dimensioned 2D drawing is exactly what I was looking for. I'm playing around in there now learning things.
