Top level of design project keeps being isolated.

Hello

I've been finding that sometimes, the very top level of a design project becomes isolated, seemingly inadvertently. Can someone explain how I might prevent this and why the top level should ever be isolated?

Hi,

What do you mean "isolated"? Can you give a screenshot of the behaviour?

What component or assembly is the Active component when this happens?

Cheers

Isolated as in "Isolate/UNisolate"

Clicking on the top level shows the unisolate icon.

Hi,

Do you mean that the top level component is Grounded? A recent update to fusion has made grounding the top level

component as a default. The change has only happened in the last month (I think but it is certainly recent).

Can you give us a screen shot?

Cheers

that's interesting.  I've never seen the isolate option at the top level.  do you have a screen shot of that?  could be a UI bug.

I will try to post a shot when it occurs again. It is pretty simple though. I will find that I can't edit anything. Then, right clicking on the very top component it will show the 'unisolate' icon. Clicking it will set everything back to normal. It has been happening for a couple of months now on a fairly regular basis. Now that I know about it I can get around it but I just wanted to mention it here in case I am missing something which 'never happens' /s. Thank you!

Seems to happen most frequently when I re-open an existing project. F360-ISOLATED.png

I suspect what you're seeing is the same as this thread where a sketch is selected and will not unselect. This bug has been around for a while but because it's not repeatable going to be hard to fix. @Phil.E Have you any reports of this problem?

I've never seen this problem. That short menu is a known issue, but it isn't known to happen on document open.

If you have a design that can be shared and used to reproduce the effect, or any other details like what add-ins are installed/running (other than default) that would be very helpful.  In order to debug it, developers need to cause the problem to happen, and then stop the program to see what is going on when the problem gets reproduced.
