Thread drawing problem, or how to draw new lines on an existing piece

Hello,

I have a section view of a threaded part, but it looks horrible. If I disable the thread feature from the 3D, then I don't know how to add a line to indicate that there's a threaded part. See the image attached.

How can I draw a line or how to include a normal thread view like in other software (inventor, for example)?

Hi Kevin,

In the next major update we have added support for cosmetic threads, so in the drawing you will see the additional lines you are looking for. Like almost everything else in Fusion 360 Drawings, the representation of cosmetic threads will be compliant with ISO and ASME drafting standards.

Hope this helps, and sorry its not already available.

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Kevin,

If all goes to plan, you should see the update early April.

Thanks,

Andrew

@kevinmamaqi it looks like this fix will end up being in our update in early May.  Thanks for the patience.
