Thread design

Hello,

I'm trying to draw a thread with custom dimensions.  I have located the threading option in the menus, but I cannot alter any specifics of that particular thread. I can only pick the values from the pull down menu.  But if i wanted to make for example a M6.5 x 1.75 thread, I cannot do it.

Is there another way where I input my own values to create my own thread geometry?

I would draw a shape of a triangle then use a helix function, but I cannot figure out how to do it.

Is fusion able to do this?

Thank you,

Hi @Anonymous,

You can use Create > Coil with a triangular profile to do this, or you can make a custom thread file with the dimensions you want.

Hi,

What @kate.raskauskas said is the way to do it, and I would like to add something

You can use the coil as a path and then use a plane along path on it, so that you can sketch on it a custom thread section for example

Might help
