Have a pin dia 6 mm and like to thread this in the end, M6 and 8 mm long.

First I make the pin 6 mm in diameter, and then using the thread command (ISO 6 mm, lengt 8 mm).

Now the whole pin has change diameter to 5 mm!

I like to have it as this:

It actually changes it to 5.88, mid limit for the OD of a M6 thread, you can check here. What's annoying is it changes the whole length, this has been reported many times and is a limitation to the tool.

If I simply Edit the feature (without making any changes) the part fixes itself.

Can you create a Screencast Recording reproducing how you are getting into an incorrect state from scratch?

I see that now. When I open your file it's 5mm but if I edit the thread from the timeline it resizes to 5.88mm! Don't know how you've ended up with 5mm, I tried deleting the thread then adding back but that works correctly. @jeff_strater any idea how the thread in the timeline can be M6 but the models wrong?

What if you leave the Size on Auto?

I tried both ways and could not reliably reproduce the issue, but I think I was able to get the incorrect behavior in at least one of my attempts.

If I use auto the diameter will be 5.884 mm (same as @HughesTooling)
