the easiest way to design this?

Hi guys,

I just designed this to repair my Hamilton Beach drink mixer.

While I loved the job, I think I didn't necessarily do it the best way so I was wondering on how you experts would go about it?

Anny suggestions for alternative ways to do it are welcome as we will always learn something new. i don't want to influence you so I will tell you how I did it afterwards.

This is the one I printed. Its completely flat at the bottom where the wave touches the surface in order to make it printable without too much supporting structure.

How much angle CAN be self-supporting? Would something like this work?

IMHO opinion, some of your designs are too thin et the edges.

The diameter of the disk is 22mm. I use minimum 2mm at the edges.

I now redesigned one following Chris' suggestion. I made it 24mm. I tried in the sculpt space but I didn't like the form as it was a bit more difficult to control the exact shape as it tended to "round" everything making it look overly organic.

This looks almost exactly like Chris' last design but is a lot thicker.

I think I will try to print it either without support structure or with minimal one. Will post one screenshot of a Cura model in a couple of minutes to illustrate.

this is how a Cura 3d print slicing model looks with a 55 degree overhang support structure and superfine layer of 0.06mm. 

the small disk will take 1.5 hr to print
