Text needs apostrophe now?

when I am sketching text, I notice that if I erase the sample text it also removes the (2) apostrophes and then any text I try to write turns red or does not enter what I wrote?   then I realized I needed to get those (2) apostrophes back in to fix the problem.    I don't remember needing the (2) apostrophes before?

This is due to the ability to have parametric text now:

This is new as of the September major update.

note if you want to type some text that contains an apostrophe like CAN'T you need to type an escape character first \ (backslash)
