Text Layout (Kerning/Tracking)

I am making a case for some game components to Gloomhaven.  I have a lid for the case that stores all the enemy monsters, and I would like to add monster locations in the case (i.e. Table of Contents).

I am struggling with two items.  The first is getting the text to anchor to my drawing.  It was hovering 17mm below the drawing.  I have moved the text, but I don't know if it is truly on the part.  I have OBJ, STP, & STL versions of the case lid to work with.

Th second issue is the spacing (kerning/tracking?) between the rows.  Due to the font causing the text to move inside the Text box, I get some horrible spacing.  Any way to even out the spacing?

Bonus questions:

I think I would actually like to 3D print this on the inside of the case lid.  The lid looks like a puzzle box lid.  How can I flip the lid around under the text so that the text is on the bottom of the lid?

I have tried to group the 84 text boxes together to make them one unit and have been failing.  Any suggestions on how to make them all one unit?

Thanks!

For text that's this complex, I'd recommend laying it out in something like Adobe Illustrator and importing it as an SVG / DXF. The text feature in F360 is intended for manufacturing- it doesn't have the same degree of control over text that you'll get with a dedicated graphic design app.

You can bring in the linework and use that to extrude the shapes, cutting into the 3D object you're designing.

Thanks!  I will try that.  I appreciate the advise.

So when I try to do the layout in Illustrator, and import it as an SVG in Fusion, it does a number of weird things that I can summarize as "completely erasing any customization, including defaulting the font back to Arial. Also, it's backwards and upside down (like, the words and lines are in reverse order, not that the file is simply flipped), as well as having 5 lines of spacing between each single line of text." So, what is the point of doing all this extra work outside of Fusion if Fusion is going to do this nonsense anyway? How do you tell Fusion "don't move anything"?

Hi,

What you have described can only happen if you have not converted the graphic to paths before export.
In this case fusion recognizes it as text and checks if the font is available in the system.
If this is not the case, a standard font (e.g. Arial) is used.
But if the fonts are converted in Illustrator, they will appear in Fusion as paths, which can also be edited.
