Surfaces are not converting to solid
Using your Stitch command, window the complete model. the Unstitched Edges can be identified by selecting them in turn and left clicking on the Find in Window tool at the bottom of the dialog box.

stich only works along edges. it doesn't work when an edge falls mid face like this one does on the cylinder shaped faces. you will need to split the cylinders along the edge and delete the unused portion-
