Struggling to make variable fillet on a simple pocket

Hello, I am not sure why I can't make a variable fillet on this pocket.  I have created the pocket by drawing a rectangle, adding the arcs to the outer edges, and then using press pull to cut the pocket out of this block.  I can then make a constant fillet but a variable fillet won't work.

In the past I have been able to do this but recently I find that I just get a white outline and no preview of a variable fillet, and unable to click OK.  I would have thought this would be a simple one for this tool.  Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you

Screencast link below. (couldn't seem to add it to the post directly due to html error??)

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

For this document I would prefer not to share due to the commercial contents, but if I begin this process again with a new Design I agree, I can get it to work.

Could this be due to Design History, which I have turned off in the screencast Design?  Though even if I turn on Design History and make the pocket body from scratch, it still doesn't do variable fillet.  Is there a reason I wouldn't be able to do variable fillet on a model that doesn't have a design history?  The main model I am working on is much more complex and it would be nice to be able to add fillets without having to create them in a separate document and then bring them in to merge with the model.

I was able to get a VR fillet to work on @TheCADWhisperer 's design, even after converting to Direct Modeling.  So, it is likely a problem with your design - are all the edges of your slot correctly tangent?

I find that I can make this work if I construct the box/pocket in the main document but if I do it within the particular  component where my main model resides it doesn't work.  And if I move the complex body I am working on to the main document, unfortunately I still can't do a variable fillet on it.

Could I perhaps send you my model by DM for you to check it out?   You will probably find a host of issues as I haven't got everything linked together, but I have worked on this model for a long time and it has just ended up like that!
