Strange lines on components imported from Sketchup

I'm new to Fusion 360 and am coming over from Google Sketchup.  I've figured out how to import my models from Sketchup and, for the most part, the components are coming in as I would expect.  However, I've noticed that a lot of the components seem to have a bunch of extra lines and I can't figure out how to avoid that or remove them later.  Any advice for how to deal with these?  The attached picture should be a 2D component representing the floor of a van.  floor.jpg

That is happening because the imported bodies are meshes - not nurbs.

Leave Sketchup behind and do your modeling in Fusion.

Is there an easy way to convert it from a mesh, or should I just redraw it over the top of the existing model?  I was hoping to not have to redo all my drawings.

You can convert a mesh to a brep and simplify planar faces but I don't recommend this workflow as the body will still have a lot of surfaces and hit fusion's performance.

Here's a demo screencast. It uses an inserted mesh, working with a converted sketchup file might be a bit different but I think you will need to create a component then a base feature, with the base feature active right click the mesh and convert.

Here's another option using Mesh Section to create a fusion component from a mesh.
