.stp Export with low opacity

hey everyone,

i have a motor head, and i created 14 models to put them into the motor for tensile testing, i set the motor head to 10% opacity and exported all of models, but when i reopened it, it was back to 100%

normally i do it in FreeCAD because it allows you to export with low opacity, but this model is big and FreeCAD can’t handle it

is there anyway to do it in Fusion?

its a .stp file

Thanks

You mean you set a percentage opacity to some parts in Fusion 360 and when you open it again the opacity has gone?

hello

yes thats exactly what im looking for

i set the opacity to 10% for example and leave others to 100%, i export it as .stp file and after opening it with fusion or any other software the opacity returns to 100% on all parts

@CGBenner - maybe someone from the translation team could look at this.  I suspect transparency attribute isn't supported by fusion's stp import/export.

I'm going to tag in @RajkumarIlanchelian who might know someone (or the answer itself), but I suspect that this may be the case in any software when exporting to .stp.  I seem to remember this being true in Inventor as well.  But, it has been a few years for me.  😁

Well maybe it is not possible because the appearances do not match with fusion 360 libraries.

But you can apply them in Fusion 360. you have two options:

Press "A" key on your keyboard and apply a transparent material or right-click to the component or body and look for opacity control and select the opacity you want.
