There doesn't appear to be anyway to access the failure message.

Hi,

We are looking into this and will get back to you as soon as possible - we may be asking for a bit more information if we can't figure out immediately what went wrong.

Hi etfrench,

Fusion 360 generates translation report to capture the error, do you see it in the side panel?

Also, when did you upload it? I will try to see if our servers have logged any specific error for a step file.

I tried attaching the step file here, but it's too large for the forum.

I think the previously attached diagnostic log files should have the upload times in them.

I didn't see any translation report, just the upload dialog with the warning icons.

Hi etfrench,

If you are OK to share this with me...

(1) Create a Project,

(2) Upload the file in the new project via A360 (not via Fusion)....this upload will not convert the file to Fusion file automatically as Fusion 360 does on upload

(3) Share this new project with smoghe at autodesk dot com

I can then download this and see where things are going wrong at our back end.

Hi Ed,

Our backend took very long time to translate this 45+MB file but it suffers a timeout. Any translation job over 1 hr, is aborted.

So we are looking at it as to why it takes so long.

In the mean while, we translated it locally and deposited it in the same project.

Let us know if it works for you.

It looks like I didn't set the parameters correctly when exporting the step file, so quite a few more components were included. The good news is that it exposed a bug in importing large files 🙂

Thanks
