Square to Cube

I have a square with a weird side length. It isn't directly given a dimension, the side length is based on a few constraints. How do I make a perfect cube with the weird side length? Ideally, what I'd want is some way to constrain the side length and the height to be the same, so it's a perfect cube, but I can't figure out how to do that.

attaching your .f3d model, or at lest some pics would help people understand your question.

It is better to use the rectangle figure to make a square. When you clic on the rectanlge, this gives you 3 options to make the figure. If you make the square with lines, check you add "Horizontal/vertical" constraint, and the "equal" constraint, so all the sides should have the same dimension. 🙂

I found the measure option when extruding my square, and I've used that to make the height of the cube the same as the width and length.

Oohh ok, So the problem was the height. Good to know you solved.

This is what I did

is it parametric?  when you change the size of the base of the square, does the height change automatically, or do you have to go back and change the extrude?

I found out it is unfortunately not parametric, so I'll have to keep looking for a better solution

You should add a parameter with the dimension you want

so when you make the sketch add the parameter to the dimension

the same when you extrude it

so when you want to change the cube size only change the parameter dimension.

take a look at the attached. double click the dimension and change the value.
