Hi folks. I have this mold core that i cant measure the inside ribs or get points off of or check the radius. is there a way to split this core in half to get measurements? floating plate sub insert core is the layer or sketch to look at. it should be open already. thanx

Hi,

Use a mid plane to get two exact halves

I made a screencast on how to do it, it needs a few minutes

You don't have to actually split the part to get measurements. The section analysis tool can show you the internal structure. Use the XY plane from the main origin.  From there you can use the measure tool.

You can also create a sketch on the XY plane, then project the inner geometry to the sketch.

You can also use the XY plane to split the part.

thats it!! thank you!!! can you help with this ? i need the center of that core to be zero for lathe machining. when selecting the work in CAM it only has a stock point at the center of the mold plate it sits in. do i have to move the plate  geometry in "model" to the center of the core?

No, you don't need to move the component in the Model workspace.  In your CAM setup you can set the Origin to 'Selected Point', then select the center hole.
