Split Face in Patch workspace

1. I made the 'Klein bottle' from T-Spline.  that I start with a CYLINDER.

2. I want to make a hole in the bottle. i did 'loft in  PATCH workspace.

and i did Split face .

the PROBLEM is after Split face, the circle is tore.

anybody know what's the problem is that?

 

 

that I find the way when I did Split face, they don't touch each other.

it works.

I want to know why it doesn't work in the first case. And have a better way to make 'Klein bottle'?

I can patch this together BUT for obvious mathematical reasons it will not convert into a solid object and will remain a surface.

Would that get you what you need ?

I made it a solid body, but not sure if that's what you mean by solid

Brilliant. I had not thought about that!

 

Edit: Cutting that in half really you killed two flies with one stone. Not only did you circumvent the mathematical limitation the Klein Bottle usually prevent, but it also allowed you to create a tubular loft, which is not possible with 2 full round hollow profiles. Very effective! I'll have to remember that one.

yes, that's what I want to do.

 

I hadn't thought about the way to split the bottle. it's brilliant.!!

 

here is my final image.

 The solid body is made by FUSION360 and then get patterns from Meshmixer.^^
