Split body & remove

I searched with Google and I've searched this group, but can't find out why after doing a "Split Body", the majority of the time I can't find the "Remove" command. Only the "Delete" which when I use it usually, but not always removes both of the split bodies. And often, after that occurs and I use the ctl-Z to undo it, the "Remove" command becomes visible and functions the way I anticipate. Other times, if it is not, the "Delete" may perform like a "Remove"! This is VERY frustrating!
Using 2.0.9719, Personal, on Windows 10.

Thank you for the reply. Someone on another group has helped me with this problem. It appears that my faulty work flow, complex svg, and mediocre laptop all contributed to my problem.
