I want to use the solid part model to create the cavity and or core inserts for plastic injection molds. Effectively making a cavity and core from the already drawn solid part mold, model outer surface would create the cavity while model id surface would create the core.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

I think you are looking for our Combine function. If you go to the Modify menu there is an option called Combine. Your Target Body would be the body that is going to be cut (the end product), and the tool body would be the body that you would use to do the cutting. You can change the operation to Cut if it is not by default. If you want to keep the tool body check Keep Tools.

Is this what you are looking for?

Thanks,

@Anonymous Combine will only work for very simple parts, if you have anything more complex than a washer take a look at this thread. Post 2,3 and 4.
