Solidworks 2016 Upload Issues

I'm getting an error "File has no assets" after uploading a Solidworks 2016 file via the iOS mobile Fusion 360 app. I sent feedback. Does Fusion 360 support SW 2016 files?

I'm aware of a known issue we are tracking internally via report UP-23900 that prevents the viewer from showing SW models. If you open Fusion 360, right click on the file in the data panel and select Create Fusion Design, is it possible to view the file in the mobile app?

Thanks,

I right-clicked and selected "Create Fusion Design" with no changes on either the mobile or desktop applications.

For the sake of others looking for a solution, I wanted to confirm that Fusion 360 cannot view or change Solidworks 2016 files.  Is this correct?

Hi neslorelyks,

I confirmed with the development team. At present, Fusion 360 doesn’t support the new Solidworks 2016 format yet. It’s already in our radar, and should be supported in future updates.

It's this kind of transparency that will keep me updating my subscription. Keep up the great work.

Hi,

Adding to the info trail.

When uploading parts that originated in Solidworks 2016 the error that the current version isn't supported comes up.

I just updated F360 on 1/26/2016

Cheers

You can however export a STEP file and open that in fusion. As none of the history comes along there is little difference from the native format.

Is there any update on this or any expcted date when it will be available?

We are almost 1/2 thru the SW2016 release, I am hoping this is not the normal delay for each new SW release.

Greetings,

Having the same issue here with 2016 sldprt and sldasm files. It happens in both Fusion360 and Inventor.

Thanks,

Hanswurst

I just tested the fix in a development build. It looks good. So unless there are any unforseen complications , this should be in your hands in a little over a month (very early April).

I notice that this has not been fixed yet? Any further thoughts on ETA?

Yeah, really.  The 2017 beta will be out before much longer.
