Slicer for Fusion 360 - Instant Crash Upon Import

Hi Everyone, 

Hoping that someone can shed some light on this issue I have with Slicer for Fusion 360. I have drawn up the attached model in Rhino 5 and in Rhino it shows all objects as closed. I then have exported the model as an .stl file to import into Slicer. Only once I select the file in the screenshot it just shuts down the application. I have tried this multiple times and the same thing happens. I have tried other .stl files and it seems to load. When I tried reexporting the Rhino model as .stl it still crashes. I'm at a complete loss....

I'm able to import it on Slicer for Mac, but before I try and find some support for your issue, I think it's safe to say that this model is nowhere near ready for Slicer. There are way too many faces for it to be manageable. 

Depending on the scale, level of detail, and material of the physical model you're trying to make (I assume that's what you're after), you might be better off skipping Slicer altogether and just exporting DWG profiles of the model faces.

Slicer will take every single plane of this model (including the tiny outside edges of the roof, the doors...) and lay them out along with everything else with cut lines. You'll end up with a gigantic mess of a layout.

Hi, I know it's quite an old post but it shows at top when you're looking for import crash issue.

I struggled with crash on import issue for a long time and finally I found solution for myself - maybe it'll work for others, too.

Some of my files were ok and some of my files were makeing the slicer instantly crash. It turned out it's just about the files' names and their location path. If there was anything beside letters, numbers and space (even _underscore!) it would crash. So try this simple solution - just change the file's name or it's location.
