Sketch will not extrude as I expected

I have drawn out two separate squares side by side and dimensioned them. I even added the dimension from the base line to the left square but when I come to extrude them into my body the error box says they aren’t joined so this is why only the one on the original line works.
Please advise

Emanuele Pinton the two squares aren’t linked together so when I extrude through the body and pick them only the left square goes through and not the right square.

Emanuele Pinton that was originally extruded when my squared weren’t constrained so I wonder whether that’s why it’s now not working 🤔
