Sketch Rectangular Pattern missing curves?

I have had this issue before.  I have a completely closed curve made up of curve segments.  I choose the whole curve to apply a rectangular pattern and some segments are not copied over.  I simply cannot understand why it would be leaving out some sections.

I seem to have the same problem with just cut and paste.  Some segments are not copying.  Any ideas?

Hi @rlrhett

The quickest way to sort this out would be to see the actual file. If possible/allowed please attach the .3df file in your next post.

After playing with this a long time I have realized it is NOT a problem with Rectangular Pattern, but rather a BUG with the marquee select tool.

If I zoom out, small curve sections are not being selected by the marquee select tool.  Zoom in enough and the tool picks up these little sections.  It is as if the program is editing out these small sections in order to render properly when zoomed out, and the marquee tool is relying on this edited down subset.

How do I let the dev's know about this bug?

Thanks,

Hi @rlrhett,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! I would be happy to log a bug with our development team - would you mind either attaching your file to your next post or direct messaging it to me? With your design file I will be able to recreate this issue while logging the bug.

Hi @rlrhett

I was able to recreate this issue and have logged an issue (FUS-28995) with our development team. I will circle back here with an update when I receive more information from them. For now, the solution will be to manually select the problem curves.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

No.  This has NOT been fixed.  I still regularly have line segments that are not selected by the marquee tool unless I really zoom in.  It's a real problem.  I can't believe I'm the only one struggling with this.  I do inlay work on a CNC and many of my designs are quite intricate.  I draw in a drawing program and export the line drawings to DFX.  Unfortunately DFX imports come as a series of small line segments, so I can easily have 1000 small segments in one design.  I can't copy or position the design if I can't easily select every segment. I'm hoping this can be fixed.  I've never come across a program that doesn't know how to select items.

Hi @rlrhett,

Thank you for the update! I asked development about this behavior today and was told that this problem will be fixed in the next update of Fusion 360, which will occur on December 14th. For now you will have to manually select lines missed by the marquee tool - please let me know if this continues past December 14th and we will reconsider this bug.
