Why is the feature not updating? Even after i have edited the sketch. I wanted to increase the height of the box but when I edit the sketch, the feature doesnt follow suit.

Please how do i fix that.

Hi,

>> when I edit the sketch

AutoCAD does not have objects called "sketch", what exactly have you selected (the property window shows you the exact naming if you have something selected).

Also please let use know which command or function you used ... "edit" is a so generic wording. I don't know how many options AutoCAD really have, but there exist a lot of commands and functions to edit something inside AutoCAD.

>> I wanted to increase the height of the box

In your screenshot I see a box (in the front) and a plane-like type behind the box (whatever object type this is).

But when you want to modify the box you need to select the box, not the other object.

You can try this:

  • press <ESC> until nothing is selected and no command is active
  • press and hold key <CTRL> and left click the upper face of your box ==> this shows you the gizmo (as long as you are in the same visual style as you showed in your screenshot, seems "conceptual")
  • now position your cursor over the arrow of the gizmo which shows upwards ==> you'll get a vertical line presented
  • now use left-click to pick the start-point and then move the cursor upwards ==> now the upper box face moves up

Obviously you have posted your question in the Autocad user group instead of Fusion that's why you confused everyone including yourself.

Please can Anyone tell me why is it that when I update the sketch, it doesnt update the feature of the geometry. This is the model I am working on.

I want to make it longer overral and also increase the diameter but when i do that, the sketch changes but the feature/geometry remains the same.

I am new the fusion and this is really getting on my nerves. I am more familiar with solidworks but my license has expired and my boss requires me to use fusion.

Pay attention, everyone said you're in the wrong place.

[I have suggested to the Moderator that this be moved to the Fusion Forum, but for your future use, it is >here<.]

Hi @Anonymous,

you've modeled your part as a Base Feature (probably inadvertently), which are not parametric read more here.  If you look at your Timeline, there is only one feature, the Base Feature.  Try recreating your part and do not create a Base Feature and everything will work as you're expecting.

hope this helps,
