Sketch Dimension won't accept Parameter ?

Watched several videos and none explain why this isn't working.

I create a Sketch and already have the parameters I want, then create dimensions and enter the parameter I choose, but it won't accept it. The parameter appears in the dialog box also starts red then once entered shows as black so I guess it finds it ok, but the dialog stays open all I can do is press esc. but then reverts back to a number.

Works everywhere else just not in a Sketch.

Can you possibly provide a screencast of what you are seeing?  Here is a screencast that I just did on the current production release, on a very simple case, that shows how it seems to work.  But, maybe your precise workflow is slightly different, so it would help to understand what you are seeing.

No event keys recorded sorry, it's basically clicking on the canvas or hitting enter, but finally escape.

Hi @Anonymous

I'm on a mac too!

After entering in a parameter, I always hit "enter" to accept - clicking away doesn't accept the entry. As far as I know, it has been this way a long time - and it acts the same for numbers as well - entering a number and clicking away doesn't accept the value - you have to hit "enter" to accept.

I can't tell from your screencast - do you hit "enter"? All I can see is you clicking and finally hitting esc. Try "return" and "enter" if you have a keyboard with a numpad.

I have found it easier to arrow key down to the parameter I want, then slam enter twice - this chooses that parameter and exits the dimension, saving the change, unlike clicking away, which does nothing for parameters or numbers.

I attached a screencast showing the behavior as expected.

Good luck!

Thanks soo much for your reply, I've finally got it.

I tried hitting enter I know it's not shown forgot event keys in the recording. I however don't have a number pad I can't key down, but didn't realise hitting enter more than once does the job.
