Sketch dependency confusion, simple extrusion breaking

Apologies - I've somehow managed to get it working without falling over after a few closes and re-opens!

Hi, I hope someone may be able to help with a newbie question.

It's my first time using Fusion, and I've not used any CAD for a long time.

I knocked together a strainer for a test 3D print, and the dimensions were slightly off by about 1mm, so I wanted to go back and edit the original sketch diameter to make the change. However, when I edit the original sketch all my other history becomes disabled with no way of turning it back on, even the first step of simply extruding the sketch upwards - this stays the same even if I revert to the original dimensions.

Only if I Ctrl-Z back to the original will my history re-appear.

I can edit other parts of the timeline without any problems, and I understand that it could cause issues further down the timeline, but I'm struggling to understand why the first step of extruding the basic sketch upwards becomes unusable?

Many thanks

Hi.

what sketch and what diameter are you talking about?

It was the original 54mm sketch - for some reason whenever I edited it the whole history dependencies would become unusable.

A couple of restarts later though it was working fine - I jumped too quickly to asking the question. Seems it was a bit of a glitch with Fusion on my end.

Hi,

I got a little dizzy trying to understand your design.
That's why I recreated it and presented the process in time lapse in the screencast.
In the file you can follow the individual steps and make desired changes with some parameters.
