Sketch - convert curves to splines

I have projected an imported shape to a sketch and the curves are developed as lots and lots of curves.

This has made manipulation of the shape (moving) and cut and pasting very time consuming and difficult

Is there any way to easily convert these curves to splines or similar?

There's not an automated sketch tool that will do it, but these don't look particularly complex.  shouldn't be hard to do manually.  post the file if you need help (export as a .f3d from the file menu).

Do those even need to be splines? Looks to me like they might just be arcs.

Yes They could be arcs...

Easy way is:

  • Extrude the shape.
  • Create Mesh (Select the previously created body).
  • Create Mesh Section Sketch.
  • Edit the sketch.
  • Fit Curves to Mesh Section.

Well...if they SHOULD be arcs - that is to say that they have a constant radius at any point along them - then make them arcs. Don't try to use a spline for something that is an arc.
