Simulation automatic bonding bug?

I have two components that are placed together and having contact.

One of them is switched to "hide" in the Browser.

But if i go to SIM and try automatic bonding, the invisble part is bonded too.

And how can i delete automatic bondings. Manual bonding has a delete menu entry, but an automatic bonding has not?!!

Hi macmanpb,

in Simulation workspace the browser works a little bit different, bulbs doesn't make parts to be suppressed but just hide or show a component or body. To make a component/body suppressed (not involved in the simulation) you have to use check box in the browser.

Hi Josef,

you don't understand me. I have switched the bulb off in model mode browser and  then i go to simulation and uses auto bonding.

Here the auto bonding bonds the invisible component too.

😉

Hi @macmanpb,

I understand what you mean, it is actually as designed since hiding components in the Model env. by the browser bulbs doesn't mean that components won't be involved in the simulation thus auto generating contacts will be applied also on them... Bulbs in the Simulation helps for instance to hide components when you need apply a loads or constraints or to show or hide results of a particular component...

To avoid generating auto contacts for some parts you need to suppress them in the Simulation workspace.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Josef
