bug with sketch / selection / input fields after update

Hello,
I am quite disapointed by some bugs I have recently with f360
I don't know if it comes from the last updates or because I update my OS with El Capitan.
But it slow down my productivity in a very frustrating way.

  • Sketch function stop working properly after few draw on some occasions.
For example I want to draw a line but the preview of the line doesn't appears nor the informations about distances. So it's like drawing a line just using the grid. I have the feeling it's a bug.
I have to stop sketch and edit sketch again to make it work fine.
  • Also a bug with the selection like the blue of a selectionned area doesn't show up.
  • With most functions i can't use the floating input field to specify a value that apears when you use the function. It's like blocked to the first value and I have to use the input field that is in the function box to achieve that.

    Maybe someone has some clues?
(Don't really want to spend my time uninstalling / re-installing f360 after every update.)
    Regards,

Hi @Anonymous,

Unfortunately, I'm going to need a little more information if I am going to try and reproduce this. One thing you may want to try (and it will give us all a good idea of what is going on) is to create a screencast of each of the issues. You can download screencast at https://screencast.autodesk.com/. By recording your screen, we should get a good idea of what's going on. Also, just some quick follow up questions:

I know you said you are unsure if it comes from the El Capitan update or the Fusion update, so lets try to get a timeline. The Fusion update came out Monday I believe. Were you experiencing these issues pre-Monday? Also, when (roughly) did you update to El Capitan?

To address the issues:

These (in my opinion) all seem graphics related, and please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm curious to see if these all boil down to the same issue.

Thanks,

Hello James,
Thank you for the answer. I've installed the os update on sunday evening... but I can't remember when those bugs started.

I'll try to record that with screencast and reply the output of it. I wonder if it's just happening for me, otherwise i guess it comes from my computer...

Regards

Hi @Anonymous,

The more and more I look at this I feel like it is graphics related as I really am having a hard time replicating this. One thing to try however to try and narrow this down - go into the help menu in the top-right corner of Fusion and select Graphics Diagnostic. In the bottom check the box that says "Limit all effects to provide optimum performance" and see if that takes care of some of these graphics issues. Also, go into your preferences (found under your name menu) and play around with the display settings to see if anything works. Hopefully this can help narrow it down for me a bit as I do some more research.

Thanks,

Hello James,
two 'funny' things about that.
This limit effect option was already enabled... and for some bugs as I try to document it with screencast, it suddenly work better when I launch the record...

Don't really know what to do about that but I guess you're right: it might be something related to graphic glitches.
My graphic card it's like a crappy Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 Mo from a 2012 Macbook pro.

Hi @Anonymous,

Well I'm glad to hear that it solved the other issues! As far as this one, I have seen this before and I will try to research why this is happening and what the fix was. In the meantime, it may be worthwhile to check out this thread which seems to be the same issue.

Unfortunately, after giving a quick read to these posts it does seem like it is a hardware related thing as opposed to a bug, as it really doesn't happen often and a lot of Mac users do not experience this issue. I will do my research though and ask around.

Thanks,
