Shortcut for Look at

I cannot find a shortcut key for 'look at'.  I wish to set one of my extra mouse buttons to this, as it is how I design when using SolidWorks. 

If I cannot set that, how do you guys design? Just dragging your mouse allll the over to that button every time you need to be normal to an angled face?

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet. As a former SW user, this made my transition to F360 a lot easier. "Normal To" was ingrained in my work flow and it was only natural "Look At" would be as well.

Go to File.

Show Text Commands

Type or Copy and Paste - hotkey.dialog LookAtCommand

Your window will pop open and you can assign any hot key to "Look At".

I use the Space bar.

My only complaint is that I can't use PgUp for hotkeys, but I don't care. This has been a pain in my butt for YEARS.

I would have loved for this to have worked, but still no luck unfortunately.

Initially I tried adding the hot key via the Space Mouse, but same behaviour as before in that it brings up the Offset command.

Then in the name of science I tried just assigning space bar using the text command, but it does absolutely nothing.

Yes.

I don't like the look of that 'InvalidCommand' part thought.

This is after pasting in "HotKey.Dialog lookatcommand" to TEXT COMMANDS.

OK so it's case sensitive if anybody else is struggling....

...and whichever key you assign can be used by your Space Mouse. Easy when you know how!

Weird that it's now case sensitive. I literally copy and pasted  from my dialog box. Wonder if the last update broke this.

I'll edit my OP in case anyone stumbles in here down the road.

Are you on a Mac by any chance?

My software was wildly out of date when I first tried it, and I've done two updates since thinking that might have been the reason why it wasn't working, but the behaviour did not change, so I don't think it's anything to do with updates, at least, not on my setup.

Nope, PC.

I'm not sure why it would matter if it was case sensitive or not but at least we have a solution for something so easy to fix.

I'm not sure how connected Autodesk is with their users, but this would improve workflow by 10 fold.

Also, can we please have small icons or the option to have small icons? I hate the drop down menus, stop hiding everything. let me load it all up.

Finally found this! It works wondefully. Also works lovely for FindInBrowser which saves me lots of right clicks. Might be a new feature? Hi. 

Just go and download " X-mouse button control ". and then change one of the buttons on your mouse. I did it on middle mouse. It doesnt allow you on keyboard but maybe you can find similar software for keyboard as well.

you can see on the picture I shared. "" Middle button=(pressed mode) sloo{RETURN} ""  just simulated "S" on fusion and write "loo" then press Enter.

and in 2025 with the September update, they just unassigned space bar look at because they made spacebar "last command" which is completely useless.
