Sheet metal miter drip edge

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone knew the correct workflow for creating miters on these drip edges. They are separate components which is what I need.  But I think that is part of my problem. I tried unfolding and sketching away the edge but not working out so well when it folds back up...  Any Ideas?

Thank you,

Josh

I dont claim expert status but as they are two Sheet metal bodies I think all you can do is fine the junction. Will they be welded as a single or travel as two?

@Warmingup1953   Thank you.  They will be welded.   That last picture is what I am trying to accomplish without a bunch of sketching and extruding if I don't have to.

Hi @ANDERSONRODANDCHOPPER

you can extrude the side face of the flange and use a To Object for the Extents.  I built one sketch with a 45 coming off the inside corner, then did. a plane at angle.  Not too much sketching.

hope this helps,

@JamieGilchristThank you, That worked pretty well.   It provides the correct miter look and even shows up when unfolded.    It leaves some undesirable geometry on the inside corner tho.  Id like the fillet of the bend to be included in the angle. See below.

As you mentioned, having multiple sheets here is part of the challenge.

Best workflow, I'd think, would be to start from a single sheet & create the flanges all neat & tidy.  Then cut the sheet up in the 2 seperate components what would become the base cabinet & the upper frontpanel and proceed from there.

When working with multiple sheets, the flange tool simply can't help us out here. Manual optimizing, as you were doing, is the only viable alternative then.

Attached: a quick try...   Not on your provided model, though.
