Select a node?

New to Fusion 360, but not new to FEA. I don't seem to be able to figure out how to select a specific node or group of nodes in a mesh model, say to apply a prescribed displacement, load, or even constraint. Clearly, one can do that on an entire face, but is there really no capability to select nodes?

Split Face.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

I can't, the file contains proprietary information. However, I found a work-around.

What I was trying to do was to use a single face of an STL file to create a workplane. In the normal design menu, you cant use the "3-point" tool to define a plane based on the stl surface because it would let you click nodes lines or surfaces in that environment. However, if you go into the edit mesh environment, you can. So I just did that, and clicked just inside of all 3 vertices (ensuring that I'm getting the right plane) and voila, I got a plane from an stl surface.
