seemingly random face appears after editing old feature

I have two questions.

Firstly, I am experiencing some crazy things happen with my model when I try to edit previous features. For example, when changing the offset on one of my tools I used to cut my main body with from 5mm to 3.4mm I get weird faces connected to my body. (screenshot and model attached) What causes this, and how would i go about fixing it.

Could this previous thing also be the reason i get an error when i try to offset the inside faces to make the shell 0.65mm thick from around 0.9mm in that specific area? The error message I am getting is ''Error: The body could not be repaired after deleting faces. Try changing the selection, or use the Delete tool in the Patch workspace to delete geometry without repairing the gap.'' With more testing, I am getting the exact same error message when trying to offset the support structures containing the random face.

Secondly, how could I improve my workflow in a project like this? It seems whenever I modify old features it takes forever to load the model, as well as it sometimes fails to calculate offsets and other edited features.

PS. I want to thank the community for helping me with this project. You have taught me so much!

that looks like a graphics faceting issue.  Let me look at the model.  There is usually a workaround for these, so I'll try those first, but also we are collecting these models to try to get them addressed at the root cause.  Thanks for sharing the model - that really helps

yep, that's what it was.  Just changing the "display detail" for that body fixes it.  I applied a different material, just so I could see better....
