Ok, so there's plenty of people asking about section view (3D design, Inspect, Section Analysis) but can I ask why we can't tweak anything in that view? Two colours across all components, unaffected by any settings such as material or appearance, seems like a really odd limitation.

I could throw it into a drawing, but those are black and white (unless I missed some setting there?) and I am literally just taking screenshots of models for use in a book as diagrams. A different colour per component would be very much more useful.

Or, is there a better way to do this?

I am not sure what you are talking about.  Sectional Analysis views display different colors for components.  There will probably be a repeat of a color due to the number of components but the colors are not the same on adjacent components.

Well, on the first design I tried it on, there were 5 components, and two were yellow and two were blue, in the exact same shades. However, I've just solved this! If you hit "Shift N" you get a different colour palette, and you can then swap the colour of each component. I would like to be able to pick them, but at least this way I can make them different. To swap the colour, right click the component in the Browser, then hit "Cycle Component Colour".
