Sculpt: Edit Form manipulator positioning

Is there any way to move the manipulator while editing a sculpt object/face/edge/point? Basically I'm looking for something that works like Maya's custom pivot edit mode:
I want to either move the manipulator to a different spot (to rotate about an specific axis, for instance) or align the manipulator to a specific face or plane. Fusion makes some assumptions about where the pivot gets placed by default that don't always fit my needs.
