Scaling a Canvas when inserting into a Project

Hi

I have a blueprint that is scaled already and is A0 or A1, which ever is the largest.

R2 Blueprint.JPG

I plan to create a 3d object using it as a starting point but when I insert into Fusion it inserts small and then I need to scale up to some measurements I already have.

It would be good if I can insert it in at the scale it already is saved as, is this possible?

The reason I ask is that I loose accuracy by scaling it to a known line I have drawn and inserting as is would be better.

Any advice will always be appreciated.

Regards

Hi

Sorry to ask, but where is the calibration tool.

When I insert the canvas and it asks for what axis to locate it on then it comes up with a box of scaling choices.

This box is the problem as it wants me to imput xyz scales and such. Is that what you are referring to?

No,

Import the canvass onto an origin plane,  3 planes, 3 canvasses  if you wish.

Accept the Fusion system, defaults.

Find the Canvass under the canvass folder, select it and right click, select Calibrate from that menu,

Select amy 2 points you want to dimension, and add the value. Press Ok.

Go back to the Canvass and select it again, right click again, and select Edit Canvass, with the move handles move it so that the origin is where you need it.

Simple routine.

Hi

Thanks for your help chaps.

There was one clear measurement that was 1" so I was able to calibrate it to that.

I have never seen the calibrate option before and would have helped with a lot of other projects.

Never mind. I have learned something new.

Thanks for your help.

Just one thing, you might be tempted to place the canvass on the origin as it first comes in, don't bother, it will move off the origin when you calibrate it, and have to position it again..

Might help....

What do you do if calibrate isn't showing?

We would need a Screencast containing the steps you took, and showing the missing menu item.

Fusion will not show menu items, it doesn’t need,

you have loaded a Canvass?

Is the Canvass imbedded in a Base Feature,

you must edit that base feature, first....

Might help....
