Scale Plane XY option when Importing SVG files

Can someone clarify the Scale Plane XY option when importing an SVG? The docs say "Specify a scale factor for the SVG file" but that doesn't seem to be true. See this quick screencast: https://youtu.be/4DM9ZB9jEYk

Hi Rob,

we know this is a problem and using the Modify Scale command, as you illustrate in your video, is the appropriate workflow.

The problem we need to fix with the scale option in SVG is that most tools that author the SVG (Illustrator, Sketch, etc.) don't use units in the output of the SVG, so the dimensions, as they are, are based on pixel dimensions and not physical dimension (i.e. cm, mm, in, etc.).  So our scaling in the SVG dialog is scaling the SVG pixel dimensions and not the Fusion measured dimension.  We know this is a bit obtuse and we need to do a better job with handling SVGs.

hope this helps (a little).

hope this helps,

Got it, thanks. It seems like it'd be less confusing to eliminate that field entirely.

I calculated that if I set the Scale Plane XY field to 1.33329 it sets my SVG to the correct size I used when creating in Illustrator. Hope this helps
