Rookie question.

Greetings to all. I am new to 3D overall, and wanted to see if I could get some help to understand what function I can use, or if I have gone about this the complete wrong way. WHat I want to know if it is possible is to join these 2 bodies, with the pattern filling in-between the 2. 360 Screen Shot.png

Yes, a rectangular pattern could be used.  Attach your file for more detailed help.

Uggh.  This would be far simpler to do in the Solid workspace instead of Surface AND with design history turned on.  How did you create this?

@TrippyLighting is much better at surfaces than I.  Perhaps he can show you an easy way to do this.

In this case I would also not use surfaces. I'd stitch all that together into a solid and then go from there :

Is the material supposed to be uniform thickness? (Because it isn't in your file.)
