Greetings to all. I am new to 3D overall, and wanted to see if I could get some help to understand what function I can use, or if I have gone about this the complete wrong way. WHat I want to know if it is possible is to join these 2 bodies, with the pattern filling in-between the 2.

Uggh. This would be far simpler to do in the Solid workspace instead of Surface AND with design history turned on. How did you create this?
@TrippyLighting is much better at surfaces than I. Perhaps he can show you an easy way to do this.

In this case I would also not use surfaces. I'd stitch all that together into a solid and then go from there :
