The Rigid Group tool is supposed to lock two components' relative positions so they both act basically as one when moved or adding joints, but actually using the Move or Align tools on one of these bodies will break this relationship and they will not move together as one.
The description of the Rigid Group tool says "The components are treated as a single object when moved or when joints are applied". The usage of the word "moved" here makes it seem that the Rigid Group constraint will be maintained when using the Move tool but this is not the case. If you make a Rigid Group between two components, then use Move or Align on one of them, that one component will move, but the other component will not, thus breaking the Rigid Group relationship.
I think that the Rigid Group (and any other joint in the assemble menu) should supersede any other moving function like Move/Copy and Align.
Or, at the very least, the description of the Rigid Group should be changed to remove the word "moved" as the constraint is only maintained when using the Joint tool.
Thanks,
Sam
