revolve body(solid) , not sketch or curve

hi

please watch my video

 

there is donut just revolved

 

can i revolve that donut ?

 

it is similarly imagined with circular pattern with big number.

You could potentially use the new "Solid Sweep" function.

There are some caveats though. I swept this along a circle but it wouldn't allow me to use the whole circle. Consequently I had to sweep along half of the circle then perform a mirror.

Not ideal but it might work for you.

Hi @srevah,

Peter (@TrippyLighting) took your desired result and distilled the shape into a simple sketch (while referencing your original "donut") representing the net shape to revolve.  This is a much simpler and more robust way to model than the solid sweep method.  Keep in mind that a parametric model has to keep track of every sketch, dimension, feature, move, etc., which will accumulate compute time as more complexity is added;  a good rule of thumb is to keep your sketches as simple as possible and create your models with as few features as necessary.  There will be dozens of ways to approach making a shape like this, but the best one is the simplest one (which Peter shows, IMHO).
